Home network
Does anybody here know how to set up a network? I think that is what I need, I have several discs on a docking station which is connected tto a media player which in turn is connected to my tv. I want to access an move the files about from my pc but don't know how to do it. I have a cable running from my media player round to my router but can't seem to find the drives listed anywhere?
If anyone can help please get in touch, Cheers!

Re: Home network
For it to have a 'network drive' you need Windows network sharing (SMB), that must be supported by the TV and/or media player, most don't. You will probably have to rely on TCP/IP apps to get things going.
See if you can find a network scanner program for your pc that scans ip adresses, then try to connect to the several ip adresses shown with your internet browser to see if the devices have a Webinterface. Most devices nowadays do have that, from there on you will have a menu with settings and possibillities.
Succes.
