Re: recording
So I've just been doing some testing with Fraps and I can't seem to see a difference in the final footage once uploaded to YouTube whether I record in 30fps half or 50fps half size or 60fps full size. The difference in the size of the files is huge but shows no apparent improvement in quality? They are just 30 second clips and not much action or foliage but I really can see barely any difference at all? The size of the 30fps half size file is 627mb raw footage and the 60fps full size is 2.20gb ... interestingly the 30fps full size is 2.32gb?? How does that work?
Re: recording
So I just did another test using Fraps at 30fps on Full Size only this time I checked the box that is Force Lossless RGB Capture (may be slower) and I think that it is a little sharper, the text looks sharper and close up objects looks crisper and I think to my eye there is less motion blur? What do you think?

Re: recording
Yup, think that's a definite improvement POB, like you said especially on the text

Fraps are really really old. They impact you really bad. What are your PC specs pob?
If you have nvidia, just use shadowplay that comes with the geforce experience.
If you have AMD or intergrated graphic card, use OBS (I can help you set it up since I have streamed for a while and tested a whole bunch of different settings)

Re: recording
Firstly, this may be obvious to some people so try not to laugh but ... all those videos I have been uploading for the past year or so are all filmed and converted in HD1080 and are then uploaded to YouTube in HD, also. However, for the last year or so myself and one or two others (No names to save embarrassment) have been watching the videos in the YouTube default 320p! Completely unaware that we had to click on the HD1080p icon on the screen So if you happen to be one of these obviously older folk and were unaware of simple technology then try it on HD1080p setting - it is like watching the game live on full screen, crystal clear! Seriously, you will be amazed! lol
If anyone is interested in doing some video footage I have had several conversations involving the possibility of collating the footage from several players views to make a simple video showing how one single attack looks from multiple angles. Both red side and blue. This will allow us to see how different people handle the same situation and, if analyzed, we may be able to learn some new do's and don'ts or basic tactics and errors that we make. Some of us have been watching the videos regularly together and running through our tactics to see the good, the bad and the ugly that we do each week and it has been fun and a help.
So to those who already Fraps on Sunday, get back to me and to those who have any interest in filming on Sundays but haven't done it before, just shout and we can show you how easy it is to set up. I know of at least a couple here that have at least the basics and there is Nookie who seems to be particularly skilled with the software who I am sure will be happy to help out with the setup, which as I say is easy.
Or even if you just have any ideas as to what we could do with this idea, editing or production etc, just contribute your thoughts.

Re: recording
Just wanted to drop a note here and thank you POB. I love watching these videos. Very cool to see from the other side too (when we were on same team). Thanks to you Brave as well. I may see if my bandwidth can handle the frapping. I have learned a lot from watching all of them.
